Grading

Your final grade is based on the following:

• Assignments (5 * 8% = 40%). There will be three written assignments and two programming assignments. These assignments will be published and collected on Brightspace.
• Midterm Exam (25%). There will be a midterm exam, tentatively scheduled on Thursday, 10/23. A review session will be scheduled before the exam.
• Paper review (5 * 3% = 15%)
  • This course emphasizes the critical analysis and evaluation of research papers. Each student is required to write reviews for five research papers related to this course. Submit your paper reviews on Brightspace. Please read this guideline before you write a review.
• Group presentation (5%)
  • During the semester, students will join a group of 2 or 3 people to do a presentation for 35 minutes (30 min talk plus 5 min Q&A). You can choose any topic that is related to this course. You must prepare slides for your presentation.

• Final project (group of size 2, 3 or 4: 15%)
  • Click here to register your team with a tentative title, and submit your final report on Brightspace. If desired, teams can utilize office hours to get feedback on the project.
